About Us

Established in 1981, one of its kind, Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana PG Department. Since then it has grown from strength to strength to emerge as one of the top department in Ayurvedic Iatrochemistry.

The department is recognized worldwide as a leader in the field of pharmaceutical education and research. Reputed for the outstanding calibre of students graduating from its postgraduate and doctoral programmes, the institute attracts the best students from the country for its bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. The department offers classroom teaching to Under Graduate, Post Graduate, DANP (Nursing) and Post-Doctoral Scholars through traditional training and scientific lines training as well. Research and academic programmes at the department are driven by an outstanding faculty by encouraging high-quality research, distinctive and effective teaching, and meaningful contribution to knowledge-creation.

Department also builds links with academics, research, industry and healthcare both at the national and the international levels, to enhance research and enrich its educational programmes. The Department is well equipped with Drug Testing Laboratory, Sophisticated instruments, Repository for Metal, Mineral and Marine origin Drugs and Practical lab for providing hands on training to the scholars in various aspects of formulation development and its Quality Control measures. GMP Certified Pharmacy is attached to the Department engaged in the preparation of various Ayurvedic medicines by traditional and scientific methods for catering OPD, IPD and Research purposes. The alumni have distinguished themselves through their achievements in and contributions to industry, academics, research, business, government and social domains. The department continues to work closely with the alumni to enhance its activities through interactions in academic and research programmes.

Currently, the department is run under the supervision of Head, Professor Anupam Srivastava, three Associate Professor (Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Kumar and Dr. Mohar Pal Meena) and 3 Assistant Professors (Dr Sakhitha KS, Dr. Thakur Rakesh Singh and Dr. Reetesh Ramnani) with supporting technical and non-teaching staff.
